在中国文化复兴的背景下,宋词作为文学瑰宝,其词牌名的英译成为文化交流的重要桥梁。基于跨文化交际理论,翻译不仅要保留原作的文化独特性和韵味,还要弥补跨文化传播中可能丧失的文化内涵。本文分析了宋词词牌名英译中存在的文化元素缺失问题,探讨了通过翻译策略进行文化补偿,以促进中国文学的国际传播。研究发现,现有的词牌名英译缺乏统一标准,且翻译目的过度介入,这不仅阻碍了宋词的国际传播,也影响了外国读者对其理解与欣赏。本文提出了意译法、音译加注释法和直译法的翻译策略,以减少文化误读和语言偏差。研究表明,统一的翻译标准和策略对于推动中国文学的国际传播、避免文化误解至关重要,能提升中国文化在全球对话中的地位,并深化国际社会对中国古典文学之美的理解与欣赏。With the resurgence of Chinese culture, Song Ci (Song Dynasty poetry) has become a literary treasure, and the English translation of its tune names plays a crucial role in bridging cultural exchange. According to cross-cultural communication theory, translation should retain the cultural uniqueness and nuances of the original work, while compensating for cultural meanings that may be lost during cross-cultural transmission. This paper examines the loss of cultural elements in the English translation of Song Ci tune names and explores translation strategies for cultural compensation to facilitate the international dissemination of Chinese literature. The study finds that current translations of tune names lack consistency in standards, and excessive intervention from the translator’s objectives not only hamper the global spread of Song Ci but also impact foreign readers’ understanding and appreciation.
