基于光子晶体光纤的1μm波段参量放大器被引量:1

利用零色散波长在1020nm附近的光子晶体光纤(PCF),对光纤光参量放大器(OPA)进行了研究。为了在较短的光纤中产生足够的参量增益,搭建了锁模掺镱光纤激光器作为抽运种子源,采用其具有高峰值功率的脉冲进行抽运。该激光器产生的短脉冲被放大后注入到PCF进行抽运。当抽运脉冲的中心波长接近光纤的零色散波长时,观测到了显著的参量增益。研究了不同抽运功率以及不同抽运波长下参量增益的变化,最高获得了23dB的参量增益。

Fiber optical parametric oscillator based on photonic crystal fiber pumped with all-normal-dispersion mode-locked Yb:fiber laser

We demonstrate a cost effective, linearly tunable fiber optical parametric oscillator based on a home-made photonic crystal fiber pumped with a mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber laser, providing linely tuning ranges from 1018 nm to1038 nm for the idler wavelength and from 1097 nm to 1117 nm for the signal wavelength by tuning the pump wavelength and the cavity length. In order to obtain the desired fiber with a zero dispersion wavelength around 1060 nm, eight samples of photonic crystal fibers with gradually changed structural parameters are fabricated for the reason that it is difficult to accurately customize the structural dimensions during fabrication. We verify the usability of the fabricated fiber experimentally via optical parametric generation and conclude a successful procedure of design, fabirication, and verification. A seed source of home-made all-normal-dispersion mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber laser with 38.57 ps pulsewidth around the1064 nm wavelength is used to pump the fiber optical parametric oscillator. The wide picosecond pulse pump laser enables a larger walk-off tolerance between the pump light and the oscillating light as well as a longer photonic crystal fiber of 20 m superior to the femtosecond pulse lasers, resulting in a larger parametric amplification and a lower threshold pump power of 15.8 dBm of the fiber optical parametric oscillator.

1μm波段宽带可调谐锁模光纤激光器被引量:6

报道了一种工作于1μm波段、正常色散区、基于半导体可饱和吸收镜(SESAM)的被动锁模光纤激光器。激光器以高掺杂Yb光纤为增益物质,结合可调谐滤波器,形成环形腔结构。采用976nm半导体激光器抽运,当抽运功率大于16dBm时,激光器可实现1033~1069nm波长范围内重复频率为25.4MHz的宽带可调谐输出,性能稳定,在调谐范围内均可观测到非常规则的矩形输出光谱。在固定抽运功率下,对调谐范围内输出功率、光谱带宽、时域脉宽进行了实验测量和分析。在波长为1064nm时,用单通道光栅对将谱宽为1.745nm、时域脉宽为34.85ps的脉冲压缩至15.45ps。

Fiber optical parametric oscillator based on highly nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber被引量:2

The development of fiber optical parametric oscillators (FOPO) based on highly nonlinear dispersion- shifted fiber is reviewed in this paper. Firstly, the background and motivation are introduced, and it is pointed out that the FOPO is promising to act as optical source in non-conventional wavelength bands. Subsequently, the context focuses principally on the problem of inherent multiple-longitudinal-mode characteristic of FOPO and the corresponding solutions to it. The primary technique is by locking the phase of multiple longitudinal modes. The first reported actively mode locked FOPO is also presented in this article. However, it is not probable to realize passively mode locked FOPO because of the random phase dithering of the pump required for suppressing stimulated Brillouin scattering. Furthermore, a regeneratively mode locked FOPO is demonstrated, which can generate wide band tunable radiation in non- conventional wavelengths. Besides mode locked FOPO, the single-longitudinal-mode FOPO is also introduced. Finally, potential future directions are discussed.
