Adopting distributed control architecture is the important developmentdirection for shop floor management and control system, is also the requirement of making it agile, intelligent and concurrent. Some key problems in achieving distributed control architecture areresearched. An activity model of shop floor is presented as the requirement definition of theprototype system. The multi-agent based software architecture is constructed. How the core part inshop floor management and control system, production plan and scheduling is achieved. Thecooperation of different agents is illustrated. Finally, the implementation of the prototype systemis narrated.

To develop large-scale RP systems used to producing functional parts and large-sized models has become an urgentcall now. In this paper, a large-scale RP system, MEM600-l, based on the melted extrusion manufacturing (MEM)process has been developed successfully. And the key issues to develop such a system are discussed. Based on theactual forming experiment, it is concluded that the MEM600-l works reliably and the forming efficiency is muchhigher than its parallel equipments.
Since Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a bridge which links the upper planning system of the enterprise and the control system of the shop floor, various kinds of the information with different characteristics flow through the system. The information environment of MES and its effect on MES scheduling are analyzed. A methodological proposal is given to address the problem of agile scheduling in a complex information environment, based on which a microeconomic market and game theoretic model-based scheduling approach is presented. The future development of this method is also discussed.
