In this study, the microstructure evolution and corrosion resistance in O. 5 M Na2CO3 - 1 M NaHCO3 solution of X80 high-deformability ( X8OHD ) pipeline steel coarse-grained heat-affected zone (CGHAZ) with several heat input levels were investigated. It is shown that the microstructure of CGHAZ changes from bainite ferrite to granular bainite as the heat input increasing. In addition, the corrosion resistance and the stability of passive film of base material are better than those of CGHAZ with several heat input levels. Too small or too big heat input is inadvisable and better corrosion resistance of CGHAZ is attained when heat input is 30 kJ/cm.
The effects of CeO2 on microstructure and corrosion resistance of TiC-VC reinforced Fe-based laser cladding layers were investigated. The results showed that carbides presented in cladding layers were TiVC2 and VC. A small quantity of CeC appeared with 2.0 wt.% CeO2 addition. The amount of lamellar pearlite increased while the amount of residual austenite decreased with increasing CeO2 addition. The corrosion resistance of cladding layers increased firstly and then decreased with the addition of CeO2 increasing. The EIS spectrum of the cladding layer without CeO2 was composed of an inductive arc at low frequency and a capacitive arc at high frequency. The cladding layer with 0.5 wt.% CeO2 addition showed the best corrosion resistance, and then the inductive arc at low frequency transformed into a capacitive arc.
Al2O3 thermal barrier coatings with different TiO2 contents were deposited on 6061 aluminum alloy by plasma spraying. The corrosion resistance, thermal insulation property and phase composition of these coatings were investigated. The results indicate that all the feedstock powders exhibit phase transformation during the spray process. With the increase of the TiO2 content in the powder, the corrosion resistance of the coating is enhanced but the thermal insulation property is decreased. This can be attributed to the higher thermal conductivity but lower melting point and brittleness of TiO2 than those of Al2O3, so it is easy for TiO2 to disperse in the brittle Al2O3 substrate during spraying, in which these dispersively distributed TiO2 play the role of hole sealing, releasing stress and reducing cracks.
