Neutron collimator design of neutron radiography based on the BNCT facility

For the research of CCD neutron radiography,a neutron collimator was designed based on the exit of thermal neutron of the Boron Neutron Capture Therapy(BNCT)reactor.Based on the Geant4 simulations,the preliminary choice of the size of the collimator was determined.The materials were selected according to the literature data.Then,a collimator was constructed and tested on site.The results of experiment and simulation show that the thermal neutron flux at the end of the neutron collimator is greater than 1.0×106n/cm2/s,the maximum collimation ratio(L/D)is 58,the Cd-ratio(Mn)is 160 and the diameter of collimator end is 10 cm.This neutron collimator is considered to be applicable for neutron radiography.

基于反应堆中子照相孔道参数初步实验研究

在医院中子照射器反应堆现有的水平热中子孔道的基础上,设计了一个适用于中子照相的热中子准直器。准直器入口2cm或4cm,出口直径为10cm,长度为115cm,最大准直比为58,偏移角为4.1°。对设计的热中子孔道进行了初步实验研究,结果显示,满功率运行时准直器出口处热中子注量率为1.0×106 cm-2·s-1,γ本底剂量率平均为11.65mSv/h,达到了热中子照相的要求。

Attenuation length measurements of a liquid scintillator with LabVIEW and reliability evaluation of the device被引量:2

An attenuation length measurement device was constructed using an oscilloscope and LabVIEW for signal acquisition and processing. The performance of the device has been tested in a variety of ways. The test results show that the set-up has a good stability and high precision (sigma/mean reached 0.4 percent). Besides, the accuracy of the measurement system will decrease by about 17 percent if a filter is used. The attenuation length of a gadolinium-loaded liquid scintillator (Gd-LS) was measured as 15.10±0.35 m where Gd-LS was heavily used in the Daya Bay Neutrino Experiment. In addition, one method based on the Beer-Lambert law was proposed to investigate the reliability of the measurement device, the R-square reached 0.9995. Moreover, three purification methods for Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) production were compared in the experiment.
