Four corresponding Zn(II)、Ni(II)、Mn(III)、Cu(II) transition metal complexes were herein synthesized using N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) ethylenediamine reduction schiff base as ligand, and their structures were characterized by elemental analysis,IR spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. The crystal structure of nickel complex was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structural analysis showed central Ni(II) ions coordinated with two nitrogen atoms and two phenolic oxygen atoms through square planar, and every two complex molecules anti-parallel each other via π-π interaction of naphthalene rings as well as two C-H…O hydrogen bonds.Thermogravimetric analysis displayed some differences of thermal stability between the metal complexes and the ligand, which indicates that the introduction of different metal ions have different effects on the thermal stability of the complexes.
