A high purity potassium ferrate,K2FeO4,with perfect crystal structure was synthesized by improved the hypochllorite oxidation method.The influence of different iron sources and reaction temperature on product quantity,purity and crystal structure were studied.The results showed that ferric nitrate was better than ferric chloride.The discharge time of Zn/K2FeO4 was 62.5% longer than that of standard Zn/MnO2,and the discharge voltage increased 170 mV under constant 1000 mA discharge.
