An electrodeposition technique was developed for fabricating bioactive hydroxyap-atite(HA) coating on Ti-6Al-4V alloy at relative low temperature. XRD, SEM and ICP/AES were used to characterize the structure, morphology and chemical composition of the coatings. The galvanostatic electrodeposted HA coating is of 1.62 Ca/P molar ratio and has a uniform and porous structure, which is similar with the structure and composition of hu-man bone. The reaction mechanism and influence of experimental conditions on HA coatings are also discussed.
