By exploring cooperative principle and conversation,especially from the semantic and pragmatic way,this article tries to explore how the cooperative principle makes effect in humorous conversations.It turns out that the humor comes out more from the semantic as pect.Hence it is proposed that it should focus more on the semantic meaning to achieve humor.At last,the significance of applying humor ous conversation in teaching spoken English is also discussed.
