The pearl layer is one of the important materials. People make the good use of it in the respect of medicine and industrial chemicals. Making the composition clear is the necessary premise;meanwhile shells are the very good natural model of organic inorganic compound material.
In this paper,the authors discussed the principle of and the way to enhancing the color of the pearl. Since neither natural nor the cultured pearl′s color can meet the people′s demands, they need treating and enhancing. After being bleaching, dying and radiation, the pearl′s color will be most satisfactory.
