整体知觉依赖于双侧视皮层的协同工作:TMS研究被引量:1

以往研究表明,右侧和左侧大脑半球分别主要负责复合图形的整体和局部知觉.本研究使用经颅磁刺激(TMS)研究对复合刺激的整体知觉是否需要双侧皮层的协同工作.在实验一中,被试辨别复合字母的整体或者局部属性,在施加单脉冲TMS或者伪TMS的同时记录反应时.尽管观测到了整体优势效应(即对整体目标的反应快于局部目标,整体对于局部有更强的干扰),但是TMS减弱了整体对局部加工的干扰并且增强局部对整体加工的干扰.实验二排除了实验一中观测到的效应是知觉学习后果的可能性.实验三利用复合图形刺激,观测到了与实验一相似的TMS效应,而且发现TMS延长对整体的反应时(RTs)并减少对局部的反应时.最后,实验一和实验三中观测到的TMS效应在左半球或者右半球没有显著差异.这些结果支持了协同假设,该假设认为复合刺激的整体知觉依赖于双侧视皮层的协同工作.

Global perception depends on coherent work of bilateral visual cortices: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) studies被引量:2

Previous research suggests that the right and left hemispheres dominate global and local perception of hierarchical patterns, respectively. The current work examined whether global perception of hierarchi-cal stimuli requires coherent work of bilateral visual cortices using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Subjects discriminated global or local properties of compound letters in Experiment 1. Reaction times were recorded when single-pulse real TMS or sham TMS was delivered over the left or right visual cortex. While a global precedence effect (i.e., faster responses to global than local targets and stronger global-to-local interference than the reverse) was observed, TMS decreased global-to-local interference whereas increased local-to-global interference. Experiment 2 ruled out the possibility that the effects observed in Experiment 1 resulted from perceptual learning. Experiment 3 used compound shapes and observed TMS effect similar to that in Experiment 1. Moreover, TMS also slowed global RTs whereas speeded up local RTs in Experiment 3. Finally, the TMS effects observed in Experiments 1 and 3 did not differ between the conditions when TMS was applied over the left and right hemispheres. The results support a coherence hypothesis that global perception of compound stimuli depends upon the co-herent work of bilateral visual cortices.

儿童观看卡通片激活内侧前额皮层被引量:11

成人的内侧前额叶皮层(medial prefrontal cortex,MPFC)参与加工真实人物而非虚拟人造角色的心理活动.与成人相比,儿童更加迷恋卡通形象,本文研究儿童的MPFC活动是否也能区分加工真实人物和虚拟人造角色的心理活动.通过功能磁共振成像(functional magnetic resonance imaging,fMRI)测量10岁儿童观看电影和卡通片段时候的大脑激活情况,其中电影和卡通分别代表真实和虚拟生活场景.结果发现,与成人不同,儿童的MPFC在观看描述类似事件的真实人物和虚拟角色的时候都会被激活.这些结果表明,10岁左右的儿童观看虚拟现实中的人造角色时,其MPFC可以被自动激活,这与成人的MPFC活动不同.

同族和异族面孔的不对称认知神经表征被引量:4

研究了对相同和不同民族面孔的认知神经加工是否存在差异.记录了在知觉任务中被正性或负性情感启动的同族和异族面孔所诱发的事件相关电位(event-related potentials,ERPs).研究发现,情感联结启动不会影响异族面孔所诱发的ERPs.但是,对于同族面孔所诱发的ERPs,相对于正性情感启动,负性情感启动使得前额叶负波N100和N2的幅度增大,但使得晚正成分LPP的幅度减小,并且N100的幅值与被试对同族成员的负性态度评价得分相关.这些结果表明,多层次的神经机制参与了对同族面孔个体化的加工.

Watching cartoons activates the medial prefrontal cortex in children被引量:2

The medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) of human adults is involved in attributing mental states to real human agents but not to virtual artificial characters. This study examined whether such differential MPFC activity can be observed in children who are more fascinated by cartoons than adults. We measured brain activity using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) while 10-year-old children watched movie and cartoon clips, simulating real and virtual visual worlds, respectively. We showed neuroimaging evidence that, in contrast to adults, the MPFC of children was activated when perceiving both human agents and artificial characters in coherent visual events. Our findings suggest that, around the age of 10 years, the MPFC activity in children is different from that in adults in that it can be spontaneously activated by non-human agents in a virtual visual world.
