This paper elaborates the problem of focusing on the product in teaching extensive reading.It points out the misguidance of traditional pedagogy in teaching extensive reading in that product(comprehension)is primary and process (comprehending)is secondary.It gives an analysis of the cause and meanwhile offers some tentative solutions to the problem.
